With 2 outs, Bob Gibson steals 2nd? How is this possible?

1 R.Clemente 1 Home Run (CF) b-H
1 B.Gibson 3 Single (CF) b-1

A botched hit and run attempt?

I have Hebner set to no hit-n-run, no bunt. In any event, there shouldn't be a hit-and-run with 2 outs.

I have no idea how this would happen in strat.

I wonder what the real Bob Gibson would have done had the opposing pitcher tried to steal with two outs? If I were him, I certainly wouldn't dig in my next at bat.

During his career, Gibby stole 13 bases and was caught stealing 10 times.

He also hit 24 regular season home runs. I remember back when I was in the sixth grade and the Cards and the Red Sox were competing in the 7th game of the 1967 World Series, I was home for lunch watching the game, and Gibby hit a home run off Jim Lonborg, and I returned to school and told everyone about it, much to the disappointment of my classmates who were pulling for the Bosox.

Gibson is getting cocky. Here is the replay from last night's game:

TOP OF INNING 7 ***
0 B.Gibson 6 Single (CF) b-1 bpSI 1-13
0 1 P.Popovich 2 Sac Bunt (3B) 1-2 b-0
1 2 1 Caught Stealing 2-o
2 R.Webster 3 Ground Out (SS) b-0 gb(SS)x

I can't recall a pitcher attempting a steal before (other than on a failed bunt). Now Gibson has an attempt in 2 straight games. Maybe next time he'll try to steal home.
