That Dodger infield was iconic, they played together damn near every day for a whole decade. Garvey was such a perfectionist on the field, so pure in his approach to hitting, obsessive compulsive about his appearance, his batting routine, his swing, his teeth. A ninny and a man-*****. Lopes was a basestealing genius. Not as prolific as Wills or Brock, but he was surgical about it, just never got caught. I should go check his all time rank in SB%. Russell we already discussed...I guess he's sort of like a backup singer, just got lucky to be part of the crew. And then there was Cey, he was just maddening. The Penguin. Couldn't walk straight...hit the crap out of the ball when he tied into one.
Update: Lopes is third all-time in SB% behind Rock Raines and Willie Wilson (minimum 500 steals). the top 10:
1) Tim Raines - .847
2) Willie Wilson - .833
3) Davey Lopes - .830
4) Joe Morgan - .810
4) Vince Coleman - .810 T
6) Ricky Henderson - .808
7) Ozzie Smith - .797
8) Paul Molitor - .794
9) Kenny Lofton - .793
10) Luis Aparicio - .788
