Ahhh the Carol Burnett Show, family entertainment at it's finest. That whole era of TV was great:

Carol Burnett Show
All In The Family
Emergency
CHIPS
TJ Hooker
Happy Days
Dallas
Miami Vice
MASH
Monday Night Football with Dandy Don Meredith and Howard Cosell
ABCs Wide World Of Sports (inevitably with the Harlem Globetrotters on)
Nebraska at Oklahoma college football with Keith Jackson calling the game
The Bob Newhart Show
The Mary Tyler Moore Show (but not Rhoda)
Barney Miller
Barnaby Jones
The Odd Couple
Sanford and Son
Quincy
The Rockford Files
SWAT
Starsky and Hutch
Soap
Magnum PI
Columbo
McMillan and Wife
Vega$
Black Sheep Squadron

I didn't get outside much as a kid I guess.

One of my personal favs for the time, and one that you might have enjoyed, Fred, was The Paper Chase. Great movie, great tv series that lasted for one year. Picked up later by HBO, but not the same.

Paper Chase the movie and the tv show are very different, with about the only similarities being Harvard and John Houseman as Prof. Kingsfield. My favorite line: "Mr. Hart. Here is a dime. Now go call your mother and let her know that there is very little chance that her son is going to be a lawyer." Great representation of what life is like as a 1L at a top law school. And a good theme song by Seals & Croft as well. Trivia question: what subject did Kingsfield teach?

1977 Rookies

Postby FAaron » Wed Mar 24, 2010 8:30 pm

Aikens, Berra, Bonnell, Julio Cruz, Davalillo, Steve Henderson, Dave Johnson, Kemp, Eddie Murray, Lance Parrish, Dave Roberts (hitter), T. Scott, Soderholm, B. Wills, Arroyo, F. Bannister, Butler, Clay, Kekich, Keough, Kline, Montague, B. Moore, D. Moore, Moskau, E. Romo, Segui, Shirley, Simpson, Sorensen, Stanley, Wilcox

Since there are only 32 new players, I think the draft should only last 2 rounds.
