We need to start an ad campaign or something. I'll start putting flyers on cars.

I'll start cold-calling out of the phone book. If your call displays shows an unfamiliar phone number in the 604 area code, pick up its me.

Private Messages . . .

Postby artie4121 » Mon Apr 19, 2010 9:52 am

Is there any way to increase the visibility and use of the private message function here?

I have used it with VERY limited success to try and drum up interest in hard-to-fill leagues, but from the SENT/OUTGOING boxes, I note that they are hardly EVER read.

Bernie, this would be a great way of communicating with past comrades from prior leagues to let them know that a new league is in the offing.

It seems to me they should have never taken off the auto leagues function. I think, psychologically, people feel more comfortable joining an auto league where, literally, all are welcome vs some league that they have no idea. The assumption is that all are welcome, but many don't come to that conclusion automatically. Hence, the slow down in populating public leagues. This is just my theory.

To expedite leagues, advertise in this space -- and *sell* it baby. Invite the masses, make them feel welcome. I've found people respond better when you really hawk it.

Kind of absurd you have to do that, but that removal of the auto leagues was just foolish. Do this until they bring it back. I have a few credits, maybe I could be convinced
