GotW: Nominate your Opening Day boxscore

Two Potential Ones For You

Postby Pinko Filth » Tue Mar 21, 2006 8:07 pm

I have two items so far that might be worthy:

Josh Towers throws a complete game, 2-hit shutout

And this next one isn't only one game, but I think it warrants mention as it's quite odd. Javier Valentin, a man who hit 14 homers all last year, hits 4 homers in the first series of the year (at Petco, too! )

Err...oops, sorry about this double post

Sorry :(

I said the Towers game was a shutout, and while he did give up no earned runs, there was one unearned run. Oops!

Dropped Ortiz who hits 2 HRs and Zito who tosses a gooseegg!

On opening day-after the roster cutoff-but before the cap hit, I dropped David Ortiz-who hits 2 HRs in the series-and Barry Zito who pitches a (six inning) shutout. Picked up two players cut at the wire: Clemens and Brady Clark. (Clemens in his first start proceeds to throw a shutout also)

Thanks.

An opening day no-no? This gets my vote, uness soeone can show me a 4 HR game or a cycle.

Question???

Postby BRADSANDBOTHE » Wed Mar 22, 2006 1:58 pm

What exactly is the purpose of the GOW???

Are you keeping links throughout the season or Records???

I am glad I am in the running, but just don't understand the whole concept. If you could elaborate, I am sure it would help others as well as myself.

Thanks,

Bodie (Louie Longballer II)

Here's a good one

Travis Hafner: 3 homers and 9 RBI, to go with a 20-4 victory (neither team is mine, btw)

This is no fun if the winner(s) are not announced. :?
