Double Decade Hall of Fame Voting - Class of 1985

Below are links to the stats (summary and detail) for all the retired players with five or more completed seasons. I also excluded hitters with less than 2,000 at bats and pitchers with less than 750 innings pitched

You may vote for up to 10 players. Those players who receive 75% of the vote are in, the rest can try again after the '86 season.

85 was Gorman Thomas' 3rd World Series ring, for those of you on the fence about him. I'm not on the fence -- 7 40+ HR seasons and a 1 in CF!

The interesting thing about looking at the stats for this league is that as much as people complain about the pricing, it is generally pretty solid for the hitters. Look at guys like Baker, Lemon and Thomas. The are worth the 6 bills over the long haul. Look at the 'career' Terry Puhl put together.

And for those Watson lover, He missed 3 seasons (aka was cut) and was a part time player in more. To me that is not HOF material

For the pitchers, look at Soto, the guys should be top shelf, but gets out pitched by Len Baker.

Kingman's stats are pretty interesting. 532 HRs with a .220 BA. In most seasons almost half his hits were HRs! Even with the low avg. and I imagine, staggering strikeouts, 532 HRs is a lot to ignore. Plus 65 in his farewell season! I think I have to vote him in. Sorry to the Watson fans.

I too must vote for Kingman. Unknow to many; however, he did get a lot of games in at 1B and made ZERO errors.
