My first ever entry to the record books!

All I have to say is George Brett is amazing. It was the first time I ever used him in either the 70s or 80s game.
I didn't get his 1980 season, but his 79 season, but he did not disappoint.

He was the league MVP too, he was the lone bright spot on a rather dismal team.

If the records page gets updated anytime soon, it'll be nice to see Mike Tyson knocked out of the triples lead. No offense to the guy, but he's just not as good as Brett.

Now that I've only recently discoverd G. Brett, you have to go and inflate his popularity! He's having his '79 card for an Astrodome team of mine and yes, he's tearing the cover off the ball!

The thing about Brett is that unless you play in a homer park and opt for Schmidt, the dropoff between Brett and the next 3rd baseman is huge....I think that's what makes him even more valuable.

Not sure I agree because you have some valuable players who can play 3rd...D Allen, Buford, Perez, Killebrew, Rose. So whether you need power or top of the order guys there are good choices...and if you hit the right card Torre, Bailey, and Evans can be monsters for the money.

To use an extreme...I had D Allen commit 48 errors at 3rd in the same season he hit 57HRs, had 140RS and 142RBI

I've been using Garvey at third and K. Hernandez at first. Garvey only had 12 errors on one team, and currently he has 22 through 142 games. I had his '78 card on the first team, and I'm pretty sure I've got it this time too.

And if you're not, you have to settle for the 48 errors without all the home runs. Then again, I don't really know exactly since I rarely play in them. Buford's OK offensively, but he's a butcher too...Rose is not cheap either. All things considered, I'll take Brett.

I've had Allen hit 30+HRs, 100+RBI, 100+RS in the Astrodome...I've had Rose hit 15HRs with 100+ RS and RBI in Royals...you can get production from guys in different ways. 3B is not a position that gets many gbX chances to start so D is least important there over any INF position. If for 2.5mil less D Buford gives me 100+RS, a .385OBP, 10HRs, 70RBI, 20+SB I'll take that all day long

I almost always draft Killebrew for the purpose of playing him at 3B. The e rating doesn't bother me one bit.
