I thought these were both great picks. I had highlighted McCutchen for the same reasons (until Kemp fell to me), and I also had Zimmerman as the best available remaining 3B. At a certain point, of course, many of us will simply write off the Pirates and other teams as those who we will be playerless from.

That was funny...I was debating Helton vs. Miggy Cabrera back and forth for a good 5 minutes (there was one other I was considering too)...ultimately going with Helton's better Defense and LH bat...and literally 1 second later a proxy picks Miggy. I guess we're on the same page, Mossy!

I think I panicked a bit in taking Hoffman. I took the Schnoogens/PM770 strategy of picking a quality guy from a team with not much left to offer. I guess I just worried that I didn't want to wait 50 picks between pitchers.

Me too - figured he'd fit as my #4 hitter. It will be interesting to see how he does over a full season.

Draft continues to be interesting...I had Rolen pegged as my #3 player behind Helton and Mig Cabrera...and then he drops all the way back to me in round 6. Good stuff. Still no pitchers on my team, however...:?

There was no good reason for Ruiz to fall that far, either. I would have grabbed him in round 5 if I hadn't already taken a Bluejay. Ruiz will mash.

I have officially "unleashed" myself with Rusty Ryal. Seemed like a worthy risk; a right-handed power-hitting #2 man stacked in between Drew, Mauer, and Teixeira. His glove isn't much to write home about, but oh well. I'll just have to suck it up and hope to turn a few extra DPs.

Schnoogens, you definitely need a few arms, buddy. Hopefully there are still some decent ones left when it comes back to you.

Finally went with a pitcher - Peavy. My heart was set on Markakis but he was gone right before.

I've been known to reel off 4-6 pitcher selections in a row, might happen again.

I was debating between Molina and Span. I figured there weren't many catchers left and there are still a few good players left on Minnesota so I went with Molina. Funny to see Span go on the next pick.
