Explain this impossible injury

Postby BubbaWyvern » Tue May 11, 2010 1:55 pm

Tony Fernandez '87' card. Injury proven from the first week of the season.
So last night vs RHP

** TOP OF INNING 9 ***
0 T.Fernandez 3 Ground Out b-0
T. Fernandez Injured for 6 more games
1 C.Lemon 3 Single b-1
SUBSTITUTE P - Joey McLaughlin
1 1 K.Phelps 6 Ground Out Double Play 1-o b-0

Some obvious problems. Fernandez does not have a ground out for an injury on ANY card he has. The injury should be a 'strikeout'. That is what happened before. Then of course how does he get hurt for 6 games? I thought over 600 PA meant a limit of a 3 game injury.

So how does this happen?

A message was sent to TSN through the 'contact us' link. No response.
I have sent a direct email also. No response.

That is odd. No Tony Fernandez card should ever suffer an injury of more than 3 games.
Did you e-mail stratomatic@sportingnews.com or did you use the contact us link?
I find that a direct e-mail works better.
Unless I am missing something, some clarification is definitely needed here.

edit: well, I see you used the contact us link. You may want to consider sending an e-mail. Make sure you include a link to the boxscore along with a link to your team.
You may want to include a link to the original injury that revealed his 87 season too.
The more information you could give them the easier for them to resolve.

In all the leagues I have played in, I have never seen an injury that exceeds the limits set in the game engine. That is extremely odd.

Tony doesn't have a card where he can get more than 3 days injury. No ground out injury either. This is messed up and a big problem. I hope someone at TSN fixes this problem because managers make decisions on players all the time based on injury results.

Panzer Ace started a thread on the 80's board at least a year ago with player injuries that weren't possible. Other managers added their impossible injuries also to that thread. Panzer never got an answer from TSN, and you won't either. Nobody is going to stand up and say that some of their wires aren't quite hooked up properly. :x

Bernie sent an email-

You're right. Fernandez shouldn't be injured for 6 games; I've knocked
off the last 3 games of his injury duration. I'm not sure what happened
here, but we'll be looking into it.

Bernie H.

So now the question is how did T. Fernandez get injured on a ground out?
That is just as important question to answer. Maybe even more important.
