FAIR TRADE or NOT??

I appreciate the replys ---- this trade really took me back as I am not use to seeing such a one-sided trade. I really think the two involved are just kids, looking at thier history they have only played a couple of times - maybe even once a year or so - so I hope I didn't over react. It just upsets the balance of a league. They commented to me that they see nothing wrong with the trade - both parties are happy and the money doesn't mean much :). Anyway, thanks to everyone who commented,

I too am in the league in question and on the surface the trade is obviously unfair. However, in a $140mm league (with pitchers batting) it probably doesn't matter this late into the season. There are many $5mm plus guys sitting on the bench and playing reserve roles which (as "Jeepdriver" stated) is why $140mm leagues don't make a lot of sense.

BTW, since the trade the team receiving the $20.39 in players is 7-8 (with Haren 1-2) while the team making the trade is 6-9 (with Martinez 3-0).

Although this doesn't justify the trade, I just think it's 2 guys who know they aren't going to make the playoffs trying to shake things up for their respective teams. In a $140mm league, with all that money on the bench, it probably doesn't really affect the balance of fair play.

WELL, the kid that received the 20m part of the trade has gotten back into the wild card race -- while the 8m part has fallen farther behind!! If the 20m kid makes the playoffs I WILL insert his name here!! :)

A crop of newbies playing that just don't know the proper "Unspoken" etiquette of how many of us who have been around for a longtime commonly share...I am not even sure it's worth it to interact with them about it anymore. The responses are just as inappropriate as the moves sometime.

You are absolutely RIGHT!! Oh, the 20+m KID is now 16-5 after the trade while the 8m KID is 7-14!!!! Looks like the 20m+ KID may make the wildcard will POST BOTH thier names in a few :( Oh, when I mentioned it they got VERY offended - when I told them I was going to post it to see what the vets thought the response was "vets schmedts - who cares"!

Kingwils is the one that received the cards valued at 20+ mil while Mescary2 is the one that received the 8+mil.

LOOK OUT for being in a league with EITHER of them!!!

OH, Kev - think YOU were right - the only reason they made the trade was to give ONE of them a chance to POP into the play-offs!! TOO BAD this stuff happens BUT I GUESS when anyone can play you have to expect it!!!
