2009 City Theme League Now Drafting...GO TO ILC!!!!

Any interest in the following theme league...

-Combine teams for local flavor
-DH
-$100M or $140M cap
-advanced
-you have exclusive rights to your team's players...NO trades!
-progressive drop penalty
-must use a stadium from one of your teams

A. Teams grouped as per the following:

1. Chicago Cubs & White Sox
2. New York Mets & Yankees
3. Los Angeles Dodgers & Angeles
4. St. Louis Cardinals & Kansas City Royals
5. Florida Marlins & Tampa Bay Rays
6. Houston Astros & Texas Rangers
7. San Francisco Giants & Oakland A's
8. Cincinnati Reds & Cleveland Indians
9. Philadelphia Phillies & Pittsburgh Pirates
10. San Diego Padres & Arizona Diamondbacks
11. Baltimore Orioles & Boston Red Sox
12. Atlanta Braves & Washington Nationals
13. Detroit Tigers & Toronto Blue Jays
14. Milwaukee Brewers & Minnesota Twins
15. Colorado Rockies & Seattle Mariners

The last 4 were matched up based on geography and who was left. I'm open to revising the pairings if need be...obviously there would only be 12 pairings picked for the league.

Other ideas I've had...

B. Since there are 30 teams...and each team is consisted of a pitching half and batting half...(30x2=60)...there are 60 "halves" available to draft. We could run a randomizer to determine draft order...run it serpentine style and everyone drafts 4 halves...2 being pitchers and 2 being batters. To make it fair (?)...we should make it where you have to alternate your halves drafted. For example...if you draft a pitching half with your first pick...then your second pick MUST be a batting half...then your third pick would be pitchers followed by your fourth being batters. Same rules above...everyone's exclusive to you...DH...$100M or $140M cap...advanced...progressive drop penalty...pick a stadium from one of your "half" teams drafted (exclusive stadiums?)....

C. We draft according to the pairings above (or what is agreed upon) and then run a supplemental draft for a predetermined number of players to draft from the unused teams. The undrafted teams would be off-limits during the season with the exception of the player(s) that were chosen in the supplemental draft. Same particulars as above for rules, cap, etc....

Let me know what you guys think...looking for 11 hungry managers like myself that want to do something a little different for 2009...sign up here and let's take a vote on what we wanna see happen....

Thanks for your interest...when you sign up...place your vote for which option (A,B or C) you like best....

Just a thought - I like the look of the AL/NL pairing as much as possible. One swap you could make would be to pair Baltimore/Philadelphia and Boston/Pittsburgh to keep this close to that idea. Maybe a couple of the other pairings could be switched for this - I like the geography being close if possible also. I personally prefer trades. I picked C because it allows some of the extra team players to be included - but I wouldn't think you'd want more than 1 or 2 supplemental players. If the majority picks A then I like that as my second choice.

I like C and drafting 2 players only. Some of the combination's need to be tweak for competitiveness.

Also can't miss out on this w/ AF Dickie and Kev in the league.

I feel draft from 6 unused teams should be limited to 2 players

Let me know what you guys are thinking about the tweaks concerning pairings....cuz it looks like it's gonna be either A or C...also...let me throw this at you guys...and I know it's early...but...anyone wanna make this a continuous league? Or should we just run this the first time and see if there's interest in repeating...?

3. Los Angeles Dodgers & Angeles
4. St. Louis Cardinals & Kansas City Royals
5. Florida Marlins & Tampa Bay Rays

11. Baltimore Orioles & Boston Red Sox
12. Atlanta Braves & Washington Nationals
13. Detroit Tigers & Toronto Blue Jays
14. Milwaukee Brewers & Minnesota Twins
15. Colorado Rockies & Seattle Mariners

I think that the Dodgers, Angels, A's and Giants can be configured differently.

For Example:
Dodgers-A's
Angels-Giants

Also a 2 player supplemental draft should be with the combined salaries of the teams for Round 1 with a re-alignment based on salary for Round 2.
