Garvey New All-Time Hits Leader

Postby Runnin Rebel » Thu May 20, 2010 4:05 am

After two weak ground outs in his first two at-bats, Steve Garvey etched his name into the Double Decade Record Books by becoming the league's All-Time hits leader with a single to lead-off the sixth inning.

[code:1:baf9c456b5]*** TOP OF INNING 6 ***
0 S.Garvey 2 Single b-1
0 1 K.Bass 6 Single 1-3 b-1
0 1 3 M.Fitzgerald 5 Fielders Choice 3-o 1-2 b-1
1 12 K.Oberkfell 3 Double 2-H 1-3 b-2
1 23 A.Griffin 5 Sac Bunt 3-H 2-3 b-0
2 3 M.Barrett 1 Ground Out b-0 [/code:1:baf9c456b5]

The base knock off of Sydney Maritimes hurler Rick Reuschel edged Garvey past Rod Carew for first place with 2,632 hits cementing his place in Double Decade history.

Thanks YF. Great stuff! Did the HOF voting get dropped due to lack of participation?

You're right that's not really enough. Thanks for trying it, I thought it was a cool idea. It gave me something to do while I was licking my wounds from another lost season.
