I have Paul Molitor in my league and was wondering what the deal is with him? We are 39 games in and he is hitting .194 with a .234 ob% and slugging .295! He does have 26 RBIs but he has struck out 31 times. Should I hold onto him in hopes that he pulls out of it or cut my losses and dump him? Even his worst season is 10 times better than this.

His worst card is his only card that is sharply slanted towards LHP. Check your stat splits and if he is hitting better against LHP then you have to figure you have his worst card and it is not worth his salary. If that is the case I would cut him and try someone else or maybe go to a platoon.

His splits are equally horrible. The thing that really puzzles me is that as bad as he is, he has 26 RBIs (he is on a pace for over 100).

31 strikeouts are better than 31 gbA's!

RBIs are a stat of opportunity and is actually worthless as a stat (like the save). Its nice to have high RBI totals, but what does it really prove except guys were on base when you got a hit. Honus Wagner and Ty Cobb drove in 100, so did Aaron and Mays. You hit with guys on base and you get RBIs, there is nothing magical about it.
