JUST A THOUGHT...

[quote:182661e8a5="Rjnewman"]1969 Prehistoric Auction League II

Playoff teams can protect up to 5 players at purchase price from prehistoric I auction

Non Playoff teams can protect up to 10 players at purchase price from last auction

You can protect zero players if you desire[/quote:182661e8a5]

I think that this league's greatest attribute is the DRAFT and its BIDDING Process! While it was my idea that we have teams "protect" either 10 players or 5 players, I would suggest that we change those parameters a bit.

How about something a bit less drastic that would extend our draft a bit AND allow for some more dynamic rosters? I am suggesting: Playoff teams protect up to 3 players while non-playoff teams can protect up to 5 players.

I realize that we all signed up under the 5/10 rule, but if you are all in agreement, could we change the rule to 3/5 (or some other formula) to extend the fun drafting part of the league?

If we can't get agreement on a different number, I am still in the league. Just thought we could change it up a bit before we get any further…

since my team sucked, I would favor any change reducing the number of keepers. So, I'll vote for Bob's suggested change.

I definitely agree with a 3/5 change. I would even support a 1/2 or 1/3 as well and precisely for the reasons Risden gave. Or even no keepers at all... ?

we can change officially now if that is desire. Dont see why u cant keep parks though but I will defer to group. If we want to we can start from scratch. Then we dont have to worry about old spread sheet.

Why do any keepers?

Postby GFDWARF07 » Sun Jun 06, 2010 8:14 pm

Can we just start fresh - sounds like that would work for others and the first time through was a big experiment anyway, so the keeper idea has less significance. Let's just start fresh?

And as for parks, there are a few that are obviously unique - I would like to see those up for auction again!

fresh start works for me.

Anyone up for making the bid limit $80 instead of $100?

Keepers etc. Vote on 80 million cap no keepers

Postby Rjnewman » Mon Jun 07, 2010 12:50 pm

The thought was to penalize playoff teams and reward those that finished out of money and then foster a mentality that one was potentially drafting for the future as well. Should we start fom scratch with an 80 million hard dollar cap to match values with game?I know Gordie would like to start from scratch. Dan will u then take over commisioner duties?I am willing to do what group wants. I am thinking clean slate will be easier to get a fill in if we need it. Bob will u do excel sheet again?
