One of my favorite pitchers in the 80s, but he has totally submarined every team I put him on.

Any success stories out there?

Funny your use of the term submarined. If I remember correct, once in a blue moon Andujar would throw a submarine pitch mainly because he was u know goofy!.

btw, as another Cards fan (see you from mo) do you recognize my user anme and its connection to cardinals 1980s history?

Stealing home, ballsy call for a guy that was slow as molasses. No one suspected.

I loved to watch Andujar bat. He always swung so hard he almost came out of his shoes. He missed the ball most of the time but if he actually made contact the ball could fly.

Who could forget his occasional "double pump" windup? This was something that wasn't popular with the hitters!

One of my favorites of the era as well. Total nutball. Was involved in several entertaining brushback/plunking incidents on a fairly regular basis. Well know to turn up the heat with the slightest of provocation.

I once cut him after a real bad start or two and he went on to contend(he might have won it) for the Cy Young. His two good years are very good. I like to try him in pitcher-type parks to neutralize his bad years(# HR's) if I get one.

I had him in two seasons in Old Busch and I gave him 5 starts. He went 0-5 with around 6.50 ERA in both seasons. He usually never made it out of the 4-5th inning.

I had him in one season in Royals 78 and he got rocked just the same.

As a side note Vince Coleman has been out performing Willie McGee in two of my leagues, go figure.
