I'll go with whatever is decided, but I concur with the idea of an even number of rounds.

Partial live draft...

Postby JOSEPHBONK » Thu Mar 23, 2006 9:02 am

If we go with a partial live draft, it will definitely be an even number-probably 4. Good point Rooks and Gmac........I guess it was brain lock when the 3 or 5 was proposed.

I do see the concern of Roofinghorse-without access to a PC, drafting could be tough. Let me hear from a few others before making a final decision.

4 round live draft would be fine with me as long as we know that it will take quite a while to complete.

4 round live draft. tee it up. Same states as before, use tonite's lottery numbers, except draft order will be low # pick first rather than high # pick first. Serpentine draft.

You have your orders. Execute

Sorry, got carried away. JJB, I know it's your league, buddy. But, if we do what I said above, we're drafting tomorrow morning. 4 rounds can go quick.

If people are away from the computer for a few hours, leave proxies via Private Message with the person who picked right before you (as long as that person isn't going to pick right after you as well).

we can do four rounds pretty quick.

GREAT JOB JJB

Now that we are full, I'll monitor tonight's lottery for division placement and DRAFT ORDER

Why would we do another pick 3 lottery?

Toobig,
for example, say I have the 8th pick in the draft, and you have the 5th pick in the draft. You make your pick at #5 at 2PM. I've gotta leave at 2:30 and be gone for 4 hours to umpire a game. To keep from holding things up, I would send you a note saying, "Hey toobig, I'm gonna be out for a while. So I don't hold up the draft, here are my proxy picks, in order: Schmidt; Winfield; Clemens. Make my pick for me if it gets to my turn, so that we can keep things moving."

That way, if I walk out the door at 2:30, and at 2:40 #6 and #7 pick, the entire draft wouldn't stop because of me not being here. If #6 picked Clemens and #7 picked Schmidt, you could post a note saying, "Posting Sean's proxy pick at #8 as Dave Winfield." Or, if #6 and #7 picked Raines and Hershiser, you'd post my pick as Schmidt

Make any sense?

We should do another pick 3 tonite to determine the draft order for the live draft. This has not been established through any other post I saw. The only order that was determined in the previous pick 3 lottery was for division placement and stadium selection order. Nothing was determined about player draft order.

Thanks,
Sean
