also someone passed on Narcoleski rather than Narleski? Were they implying that he falls asleep on the mound? :shock: :lol: That would even top Griffey Jr!

He knew he wanted the top pitcher left on the boards. His team is mostly built (except for backups). He was pretty sure with a 2.50 opening bid on Terry that his bid was certain to win.

Just because he could outbid me, I didn't think he actually would... damn... I've been watching Dandy Don just sitting there and sitting there....
Gorshar pointed out to me that his bid was high enough that only Palanion could outbid him, and he did not.

Me, too.....
I think Drysdale was becoming the auction's worst kept secret. We all knew he was there but nobody wanted to mention it as we were quietly figuring out how we would bid on him... at least I was.

I think Drysdale was becoming the auction's worst kept secret. We all knew he was there but nobody wanted to mention it as we were quietly figuring out how we would bid on him... at least I was.
