Like toronto50, I do like to try different "concepts" and see if I can be successful in different stadium types. This is much easier in ATG where there is greater diversity in ballparks and in players. Still 2009 offers a bit of variety and the challenges remain.
I'll spend a good while developing the draft list, particularly when figuring out the player rankings. You kind of just have to play a few leagues to figure out which cards get taken a lot and which ones are unpopular. If there are a few cards I'm interested in that I know few people will take, especially if they are not integral team members, it's comforting to slot them lower. This allows me to bump the more popular cards up a bit.
In general, I think relief pitchers are the least valued commodity, so there always seems to be a good selection after the autodraft. Some positions have very limited depth, so identifying those and drafting accordingly can be a key to successful draft, too.
