THE SYSTEM - MINORS/MAJORS FULL - replacement needed

Ok, so we won't make it like a decade league. But I assume that people want to have multiple seasons in one format (70s, 80s, etc.).
What would people prefer,
1 season for each card set?
2 seasons?
3 seasons?

I'm late to the comment party and the train has sailed and other mixed metaphors but...
I liked the idea of 3 seasons per decade with the early, mid and late parts of each decade.
I liked the idea of players not eligible by card being minors or reserves only (either young prospects or has-beens holding on for one more chance..."we get a good mix here" H J Simpson)
I liked the idea of every player being drafted (and put onto Majors, minors or reserves with moves between limited only by salary cap and the drop penalties).
The complicated bit was all the waivers and stuff. I don't think it is necessary. I don't think the concern over stacking the minors if you fall out of contention in the majors is valid because you have a cap and because a player doing well in the "majors" could do crap in the "minors".
I think you would only need to do the one draft per decade. I think it highly unlikely that you would find a problem with a team of 60 players (or whatever it works out to in the 80's/90's) not being able to field an eligible 25 (or a trade could solve it). Part of the challenge of the draft would be to look forward to what you project your team to be early, mid and late and make sure you give yourself flexibility.
(total catcher and pure reliever restrictions as necessary and maybe we could consider any 75ers as always eligible).
All your players are always keepers and you can keep who you want that is eligible into the next decade, eligibility is the key (I don't mind a max number of keepers into the next decade, but I like trading, so if I'm out of it late in the 70's why not trade a hot Yaz to pick up a not so hot Gorman heading into the early 80's?). Some total rosters might go beyond 60 and some less than 60 (upper and lower limits could be placed on this) and obviously different organizations will have more eligible players at some points than others but that would be a strategy choice - (i.e. going for fewer high value players but little flexibility by trading two for one or go for more low value players and try to find who's hot...do I expand my eligible list for the next "season" or do I go for it this year).
Not a lot of policing would be required. Everybody essentially has a master list of players who they own outright (major, minor or reserves). You really only need to follow who is major league eligible at any point. There are spreadsheets around with these eligibility years, I've got one available. Without the waivers and options complications (If I claim him who do I need to release etc...) it really isn't that hard.

If people are anxious to get to the 90's (let's face it, It will take a year to get through the 70's and 80's if we do 3 seasons each), then maybe do two seasons per decade and I would suggest eligibility would be;
early: has a card year 73 or before
late: has a card year 77 or after
no player won't fall into either of these camps
