I fired off a Facebook message to Jason. I have his cell number too, but will give the facebook private message a chance first. I don't have Mark's info.

My bad.

Sincerest apologies. Proxies ran out and I've been caught up in this last week of classes. Just made my picks and setting proxies for tomorrow in case I'm unavailable.

Most Use of Proxies Standings

Postby Al Hogg » Mon Aug 09, 2010 11:58 pm

Mark had been on a nice four-straight proxy run until getting skipped this afternoon. Jason's skip comes on only the second proxy he missed. Merkel gets caught a couple of times making a pick, then having it bounce right back to him.

Al 13/13
Tom 12/13
Meat 11/12*
Jason 10/12
Cal 9/12*
Turtle 9/12
SGT D 9/13
Zim 6/12
Merkel 5/13
Mark 4/13
Curt 2/11*
Terry 0/12

* First pick in draft or first pick after skip, so one less possible proxy.

Like how Cal managed to give himself a proxy credit even when it stalled on his first pick on round 12! Must have set up the proxy first, then made a live pick.

Better go make some proxies now myself, as I've run out!

Starting Pitching

Postby Al Hogg » Tue Aug 10, 2010 1:35 am

As one of two owners to have put together a starting rotation (Meat's got the four-man rotation of Halladay, Lester, Beckett, and Burnett), I thought I would issue my standard warning about how weak the starting pitching is.

Every team needs to have five SPs, and the top 60 SPs take you all the way down to $600,000.

So grab the best of the remaining starters quick (and don't take any players I need)!

I have set proxies, after my meeting I will call my nephew and have him check to see if we made any progress. If it is my turn and my proxies have run out I will have him make my pick so we can keep moving. I see that I am the first one to take a Stadium  . SGT D

Mark's cell: 316-207-2510. He's going to be hurtin' if he doesn't make some picks soon.

What did I do? I thought I was adding to my proxy list and I ended making a pick.I hope I didn't mess things up.

- Once again, I goofed up the proxies and got someone I didn't really want. This time, fortunately, it's relief pitcher Jason Bulger, who I can actually use (although my bench might be a bit weaker as a result). In the last league, I wound up with a ton of starting pitchers I didn't need, and gummed up my season as a result.

- I do have my starting five pitchers in place, and have since round 10. With the addition of Bulger to a bullpen with Baez and Rivera, I'm pretty pleased with my pitching staff. Less so with the hitters, but we'll make do.

- Great progress this morning! And I still have proxies in place for another round.
