I did read your post but you stopped short of where the rule that explains this issue is stated, 25.21. You stopped at 25.2. You purposely omitted the part that proves you are wrong, but hey, you must be right because you are Vootis, and Hal Richman (The game's inventor, and only owner ever), and Steve Barkan, and the rule book are all wrong, because you say so, or refuse to read ALL the rules.

So educate us Vootis, please, what does rule 25.21 say? You stopped at 25.2. What does 25.21 say? Or have you bought the company and decided just to take that part out?

The whole point is; it is absurd to think that Coco Crisp or Willie Taveras could not fill in in LF. And now I have proven that the original SOM baseball rules back this up. Just read rule, 25.21.

But no one is perfect, except of course Vootis. I have no idea what I did to make him so mad.

Sure, Taveras or Crisp could "fill in" in LF if needed. That's the whole point. No LFs are available on your roster, so you use Crisp to play LF. That's the point of the conversion chart, and the point of rule 25.21.

This whole thing started based on having a LF available on your roster, but choosing not to use him in place of a CF who is not rated for LF.

Rule 25.2 says that you can not use a CF to play LF if you have a LF available on your roster.
Rule 25.21 tells you what to do if you have no LF available and you have to use a CF to play LF for the game.

I'm not mad at you or anyone else, I'm just debating the issue.

In ATG4 I had the OF of BarryBonds/ WillieMays/MickeyMantle. No other rated OF on the team. I set my batting order with Bonds in LF, Mays in CF. Since Mantle was not rated for RF, I left that position blank. The only problem was that HAL put Mantle down at the bottom, #9. No matter where I placed the blank RF spot, # 9 was where he batted. But that worked out well, Mantle batted .423 and had the finest season I've ever seen. All 162 as well. So you CAN have two or more CF in your OF. Next time I'll try Mays/Mantle/Snyder, the big 3 of the 50s.
