New '99 Theme League=FULL - DRAFT in PROGRESS

Our historical single season sets

Is it worth taking a vote on whether trading is allowed? It appears that it might be awhile before the draft is finished - so we probably have time for input. That said - I'm fine either way.

I DID draft with the idea that we could trade individual players, but I do not care either way how we proceed.

CATom - please advise on the rule as you see it. If there are objections to any trading, that's OK by me. I'd just like clarification.

ldan - where are you? By the rulrs, he needs to draft a pitching team eventually, but I'll wait for his pick rather than skipping over.

guess I spoke toooo early on the "timely" draft :) - as far as trading I thought we would allow it - player for player - BUT there seems to be objections so LETS VOTE to pass the time away :) - and we really can't skip him as he has 1 hitting and 1 pitching team, I think?? AND TSN rules about the size of the team.

Is the trading of individual players allowed?? (1/2 twams are OK) 1st one to 7 WINS :)

1. CATom - yes

If trading of individual players occurs it will no longer be a league of half teams as players will be dispersed all across the league and it will end up looking just like your normal league. That is not what I intended to sign up for.

I took the 'trading allowed' to mean that we would be able to trade players as well - not that I've drafted with that as a plan, more of an option. The last 5 1/2 theme I was in for the 09 set was very active in trading - it seemed to make that league very interesting. Seems like it all comes down to what the real definition of the theme was intending.

For me, the best part of the game involves player movement (trade, waivers, etc.). The preseason offers the most fun in the game.

Once the games start, it's pretty boring, especially if rosters will not be allowed to change via trades.

whether we end up voting for trades or not, I am correct that no one can be picked up in free agency from one of my 5 1/2 squads if I choose not to have him on my team, correct?

For example, I'm probably not going to have Steve Finley on my roster. I could put him on and then trade him (if we vote for trades), but nobody can pick him up in free agency if I don't put him on my team as he's still mine (just in the minors per se) correct?

thanks,

Paul
