Out of Position Players

Postby RICHARDMILTER » Fri Aug 13, 2010 10:26 pm

If you start anyone out of position in the CD-ROM they are automatically a 5, except for outfielders, who remain unchanged if they are CF, (refer to the chart for the rest of outfielders).

Here at TSN if you start anyone out of position including outfielders they are a 5, with the worst possible range and e-rating.

Best of luck to you to Vootis...Thanks a lot Vootis, debate is good, argument is bad, we both know that. It is all good!

I have no proof of this:

Actually, lost in the noise, Mick1964 from the ATG said earlier in this thread that he played Mantle out of position (by leaving the rf lineup spot blanked), and had an outstanding season.

So I think that TSN does apply the outfielder exception.

Hey, Mick, how many errors did Mantle had over the course of the season, playing out of position?

Thanks for pointing this out, Marcus, and Mick64, but.....

If that is true cool, the problem is; he had to leave his lineup blank( and Hal had Mantle batting 9th, not exactly ideal...) and we do not know what really happened.

I am not saying I would stop playing TSN over this issue, but it would be nice if it were the same as the CD-ROM, and the rules. Still nothing is perfect and TSN SOM is still really, really cool, and worth the money.

Also when it comes to matters of range rating, it would not show up as an error if Mantle was a 5, it would show up as a base hit. The errors would be the least of his problems, the hits that fell in would be very large indeed.

Could Mick64 please post a link to this team? Thanks fellas...

And if he was marked as a 1, that just proves my point all along, that CF ers can play RF, or LF.
