so my question remains. Do I have to put Finley on my autodraft card and then trade him or can I just announce a trade of Finley. I get that whoever gets Finley must keep him all year and that whoever I get for him must be kept all year.

While it benefits me in this case, I don't like the decision as some may have drafted differently if they'd known they could trade like this. It definitely benefits anyone who drafted teams with high $ players regardless of whether they already had that position filled and hurts teams that were building their team only thru the draft. I hope we don't lose any owners (LMBombers et al) due to this.

Maybe we should have seen how the vote turned out?

I think I had listed that trades were OK, I made the compromise for managers that thought I meant 1/2 squads only - the vote could have taken all WEEK to complete and I really have to get my team in , create the league and pass on the p/w as i'll be traveling all day tomorrow with no access until LATE. I do think the restrictions will help - you are really going to want someone to HAVE to keep them on your rosters ALL year :) BOTH PARTIES! NOW, for your question,

Don't care where Mr. Finley is when you trade him - he may be on your squad - in the minors or out drinking :) BUT since his value is OVER 2m, after he is traded he MUST be on his new teams roster and CANNOT be demoted......and UNLESS he is traded again BEFORE the season starts he MUST remain on his "new teams" roster all year.
