Maybe it's me, but why are people not checking in daily? If you are in a keeper league and take it even somewhat seriously, why can't you check the forums once a day to see what's going on? It takes all of three minutes - tops. I may be the extreme one who checks in 5x a day, but how can you not check in for "a week or two"? Especially when you know something may be coming up. As far as taking what's left, there isn't a whole lot of talent there to begin with. Outside of 4 or 5 guys (maybe) - it's a crap shoot.

I understand this draft may not have begun under the best circumstances, but this is a league in its first calendar year and kinks need to be worked out. This is one on them. But, this is not a reason to give up on a league, especially when none of the players available are game changers.

CATom - I will give you Jesse Crain if you want right now, and take someone else if that will keep you in the league, as long as you try to check in more than once a week or two. If not, maybe we'd be better off with an owner who would pay more attention.

Sorry if this offends anyone, but it's just what I think.

Personally, I check in all the time and even I missed the beginning of this draft. We seem focused on getting things started, but not doing the leg work to get everyone involved...

Before any draft starts you have to let people either, A. check in on the thread or B. send everyone a PM.

Neither took place. I am fine because I don't need any of these 2-bit players in this draft. So, I don't really care. But from now on either A or B needs to happen.

Personally, I love the time slots. But, everyone has to be ready to draft for it to work or the first round should never be on a timer.

Sorry guys, going to have to disagree here:

1) Emails were sent out to everyone
2) Sending out 24 PMs is difficult
3) Getting 24 people to check in is difficult
4) We had a lot of buzz on the thread about starting Monday & delayed even after that

In a league as big & bulky as this one, if we are going to have 2 seasons per year, we need the individual owners to step up. My 2 cents.

I agree with a lot of what was said on all sides, I think in a 24 team league the managers do have to step up. I also think that sending PM's would have been good, since I am somewhat running the drafts, and Chuck does most of the communicating, I think this may have fallen between the cracks. Looking back, I wish I had waited an extra day until after we got the Players Available list, not getting those when we thought we would through the timing off.

But also, any owner who was checking in daily, wold not have had a problem. The draft mostly seems to be going well. I am sorry it did not work for some.
