Petco team design, and range ratings (1-4) vs. error totals.

My two offers out there and undecided.....

You give up:
Markakis, Nick ($6,060,000)
Martin, Russell ($2,940,000)
Haren, Dan ($8,110,000)

Other team gives up:
Molina, Yadier ($4,750,000)
Suzuki, Ichiro ($7,500,000)
Wainwright, Adam ($5,160,000)

or...................
You give up:
Polanco, Placido ($3,560,000)
Teixeira, Mark ($7,890,000)
Lincecum, Tim ($9,300,000)

Other team gives up:
Gonzalez, Adrian ($10,740,000)
Pedroia, Dustin ($7,740,000)
Pettitte, Andy ($2,640,000)

Both can't happen, because I'll be short $ after either one, and actually I doubt either will happen for other managers. I'm seeing two pretty different philosophies, chasenally and durantjerry. Want to chime in on which of the above smells better?

Gonna wear this one out, I guess. Stick with Markakis, or shift to Werth? I'm looking at BP HR in the two div. parks better for lefties, and staying where I'm at, but Werth's a slugger.........good OBP too. HMMM.........

You really need to post a link to your team. You're asking folks for advice concerning the make-up of your team, without them having the ability to look at other teams in your division. What appears to be a well put-together team might not be necessarily so when factoring in the overall makeup of other parks and other teams both in your division and the league itself. Maybe that team playing in Oakland has a staff of W. Rodriguez, R. Wolf, A. Pettite, and Z. Duke. Then, you'll at least have to do something, maybe minor, to counter that. Maybe the Oakland team has 8 LH'd hitters. Then a guy like Maholm, becomes VERY viable for the 8 series you play against that team. He'll pitch AS WELL as Lincecum will against that team, and you have to carry a 5th SP anyways.

And on a side note....

This is YOUR team. Advice is helpful, but the final result should always be what you're comfortable with.

Goes without saying (although worth saying). All the myriad of factors need to be looked at - trust me, I am more than independent (ever hear the expression "Live Free or Die"? That'll tell you what state I live in. It's on our license plate, even.

Hope I'm doing the link properly. Let me know if not.

Is it done at the team stats page? If not, please advise. Basically, I was just looking for overall philosophy, and with what's been stated just by two guys, it's diverse already. Actually, not that many changes have been made that I wasn't considering. One focus is on defense, another on hitting sacrificing defense. I prefer the former, and I also lean toward the over 600 PA guys, but obviously not exclusively.

well..

I see $ wasted on the bench

cut Barmes flat out and save 1.32
nix Nix for a sub .6 versitile OF and save .5
cut VTek for a sub .6 C and save .5

with the 1.3 you have on hand you now have 3.6-3.8 to make all of the trade offered...and I would do them all

This is some good action on the boards! Now..............will the trades be accepted???? There's the rub. And no, Shakespeare sux IMHO, but it's a rainy Sunday here in NE.....I'm back and forth online here.....to me, this is where a large percentage of the fun is, before the season begins, n'est-ce pas? HAL ain't fazed us yet, etc. Keep it coming!

One thing, though. Barmes and Nix were my R/L ph mix - I know - overkill! But this is my first foray into non-DH. I'm trying to stratgedize. So here's a dumb question: pitcher'scard, you've got the hitting ratings, ie. e0 #4NR pitcher-2. Got the error, hitting rating, N homer, righty. What's the 2??????
