gb(x) question

gb(x) question

Postby Knerrpool » Thu Aug 26, 2010 9:18 am

I thought that 1 rated infielders never gave up a single on an x roll? They can make errors, but not give up a single. I had a situation where Chone Figgins (1e15) was at 3rd, 6th inning, one out and nobody on. gb(3B)x resulted in a single.

All fielders lose one rating when they hold a base.

Also, fielders allows 4 more hits than regular when they hold a base or when they play in.

See notes 1 and 2 below the left table on this picture

Here is the link. It was the 8th inning.

Could it be because the pitcher was at F8?

I'm still convinced that there are some tricky "super-duper advanced" rules that are in play only online and that we don't [u:a9340187b4]and are not allowed[/u:a9340187b4] to know what they are. Could just be the conspiracy theorist in me.

I haven't researched this (yet), but...

-is it possible that it is because of an adjustment from the defense playing a "guarding the line" strategy? This seems unlikely, but I thought I would throw that out to the group. I believe HAL does use this strategy, even though you can't see it in the game write ups. I am not sure if you would use this strategy or not with no-one on base. I am also not sure how this would affect the play on an x chart result. I will see if I can find anything on this.

-is it possible that it is from a "random play" off the X chart? If you roll a 5 with the three dice on an x chart roll, it results in a random play. I will look at the x chart tonight to see if that could possibly result in a single.

I don't fully understand the F0 thru F9 rules. Wolf had dropped to an F8 before that AB and turned into an F6 after the hit. What are the rules in regards to outs turning into singles due to varying degrees of getting tired?

Hey guys, to repeat myself, with emphasis:

Also, fielders allows 4 more hits than regular when they hold a base [b:f0b796b662]or when they play in. [/b:f0b796b662]

Kinsler was at-bat, bunter A...Figgins was surely playing in.
