I'm thinking the issue with ATG and small ball is that there are not enough top tier small ball hitters. I'd say the difference is about 3 or 4 to 1.

You can look at the top-tier hitters used in Polo '41 and Forbes '57, for example. Based on actuals data in 'Dope at this moment, the parks have been used about the same in ATG 5. In Forbes, only 5 players have been used more than 13 times (combining the usage for Speaker, Cobb, Wagner, etc.) In Polo, 19 players have been used more than 13 times (again, combining the totals for Mays, Ruth, Mantle, etc.)

Now, more than ever, ATG really is about the "Greats." I do not think there are enough of them to make small ball rewarding if you miss out on a couple of key guys. Then you have to turn to the inflated middle and bottom tier hitters where value is tougher to come by.

So, yeah, a pricing adjustment for middle and bottom tier hitters that skews higher for park effects would be helpful. Or we could try to inject better top tier hitter cards, even if those guys are not necessarily "Greats."

I am with JimmyC. My finger is over the "BUY 5 Pack" button as I attempt to become the 1st mananger to a win a 90s Championship. It is 9:48am and I quit my job, waiting patiently for that moment

tick, tick, tick, tick........tick, tick, tick, tick.

These ATG players should become real men and women and play a challenging mystery game. :D

I've never played a mystery card game...I'm guessing it doesn't show the dice rolls for each play anymore?

I have pretty much given up on ATG5 which I consider flawed because of
the pricing issue. And yes, if ATG6 turns out to be usable I would like to
see a Joe Cunningham card, or cards, amd a better Wally Moon card.
But what I would really like to see is a super mystery game using the
70's, 80's and 90's cards and also players from earlier era's where possible. More cards are better, more possibilities, more strategies,
more everything. If huge rosters work in ATG than they would work even
better in the mystery card game where rosters tend to change dramatically during the season!

You'd get your butt kicked in ATG, Chess. Take it from someone who's had the experience numerous times! :)
