Yeah, I don't get some of the choices either.

For instance Jr. got a lot of good years but why not his 1997 MVP? Instead we get his clunker year, which i guess is fine to even it out, but 97 should have been picked first, especially over 1998 or 2000.

How does the 24 team work with respect to playoffs? Are there more than 4 playoff teams? Are there more credits for the winner? Do more playoff teams get credits?

Never mind, I found it. 3 credits to the winner, 2 credits to the loser of the finals and 1 credit to the two losing semifinal teams. That's cool!

I don't think there are enough players in this set for the 24 team format to
work properly. There are less than 900 players in the set of which about 200 are valued at less than $1.00m. The initial draft will use 600. What will
be available as replacements? Either cheap substitutes or players who have been dropped by another manager except the first week or so.There
is a tendency for managers to drop players early in the 70'2/80's 12 team
leagues now because of a thin body of replacements.in a 24 team league
it will be like the bargain basement at the bridal shop. Grab them now,for
they will be gone next week.

My 2 cents...

First off, THANK YOU Bernie for the much anticipated BTT90's.

However, like some of the other posters, I'm a little confused with many of the selections. And a little perplexed by some defensive ratings.

ie. Where is Vlad Guerrero? Granted he started his career in 1996, but he's got good seasons in 97/98 and 99. Then 2000 and 2001.
Whereas, not to harp on Brian Giles, but he's only got 2 cards from the 90's.

ie. McGwire's 98 card is there but how do you omit Sosa's?

Defensively...
Olerud and ARod are BOTH 2's?
Edgar Martinez a 4 @ 3B?

Interesting set, some/many of the 90's MVP's don't have their MVP season. I know Griffey was listed. Larkin seems high and it doesn't even have his '95 MVP season. Oh well, lots of cool cards to look at.

I think 24 team leagues will be the best way to somewhat neutralize hitting...spreading the high end guys over teams to me is better than loading up 12 teams with all studs which is pretty easy to do

I think the 2 biggest omissions from the set are Vladdy and Andruw Jones who were both waaaaay more impactful in the 90's than B Giles ever was!

mystery card's biggest mystery is its existance. hopefully one day, in addition to the omitted cards already addressed, strat/tsn figures a way to release sets in which you could play either mystery or set cards with the available player pool. the existing cards are so eratic in how they perform, its already a mystery what youre gonna get.
