I don't know if it's some type of collusion or the manager just seeing how bad he can make his team, but it's pretty bad form. It can really have a big impact on wild card races.

Since we're in the same league, I assume you're talking about newbie Dale_K and his Northwest Evergreens:

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/stratomatic/team/team_other.html?user_id=281496

This $80M team is now worth $39.4M

Not surprisingly, this team ranks last in runs scored and earned runs allowed, and the team's record is an abysmal 48-90 with 24 games left to play.

I don't know if this is collusion or stupidity by this newbie manager, but it is embarrassing and aggravating to play in a league with someone who manages a team like this. I will definitely be sure to avoid him in the future.

He should be in the Adam Eaton league with that pitching staff! And 58 players no longer on the roster? Hopefully it's just a learning curve thing. I know the advice for newbies message thread was really helpful for me when I started some months ago. Maybe he hasn't seen it. GL guys if you're with him right now though.

I didn't want to call anybody out because I haven't been around here that long, I'm glad AeroDave did.

His tanking really gives LondonCalling a lot of help..and they don't need it.

Edit: My post could be taken the wrong way, in no way am I implying anything bad about LondonCalling.

I also had a bit of trepidation in mentioning a manager by name, but something this egregious should be brought to the attention of all SOM players.

I also do not think that the team with the best record in the league and another team that is vying for the wild-card, both of whom are in the same division of Dale_K, have anything to do with this demolition. They are simply the beneficiaries of this mess.

I will say that it is defiantly not collusion. I'm in a 60M league with the same guy and 75 games into the season his team is only worth 46M. I realize it's not as big of a difference as your seeing in your league but just pointing out that he's made plenty of roster moves in our league also.

I participated in a '69 league with a similar type of manager. He was new to the game, and he would get easily frustrated if any of his players weren't performing as they should. Rather than be patient and allow the law of averages to work, he'd dump the higher price player, apparently with the expectation that the lower salary player might perform better. He finished last in the league, and to the best of my knowledge, never competed again.

Have you guys thought about offering some advice to this guy. I did the same things my first time playing but was real lucky to have a couple of veteren guys message me with some great tips. This guy may not realize how his moves are affecting the league.

Actually Ken, the guy still does compete. He still gets easily frustrated, still dumps good players, and often finishes last. He changed his ID to latorrer.

"Have you guys thought about offering some advice to this guy" (Quote from above. I did that once and the player wished death upon me and wanted to fight (I thought was funny). I no longer offer advise and play with guy's that I normally play with. Maybe this new player may take heed from advise from guy's in the league for his next go around or advise him to go to the stragey forum. SGT D
