I will be starting a season next week with two 5's in OF.

Thanks again to you vets for the constructive criticism and I will use it on my next similiar build. Perhaps a better name for my team would have been the "Rob Deers" or the "Han Solo Shots".

But the boys are ready, bats are corked and it's time to play ball!

I am not sure I agree with the runs given up during a season, what formula or straqtegy are you using to figure that out ? thanks

Hi Guardman

I use the very basic linear weight run estimator, based on their projected performance over the course of a season.

see here for more details: http://www.tangotiger.net/bsrlwts.html

I then add an estimation of the value of the arm strength and of the additional cost of allowing extra at-bats to the offensive team.

BTW, in the estimation I provided, I assumed no injuries, and I assume that the player will play the whole season. If the coach does the logical decision to use defensive replacement, then of course, the defensive cost is reduced.

If it were me, I'd scrap the expensive relievers and grab a couple more sub-1 mil guys. Maybe I'd splurge and grab a guy like Ryan Madson to close (or as someone else suggested, Cordero). I'd then use that saved money to nab Adrian Gonzalez instead of the platoon at first (you already have a platoon at catcher, and I think too many platoons are killers when injuries start to mount).

Pretty impressive. Those two guys are really having great offensive years. I tried it myself after your post. In 1st place, but not as good as yours.

I see you went all the way in the hitting department. That lineup is insane!!

I look forward to see how it turns out.

How the HELL did you get Mauer . . . AND Pujols . . . AND Tulowitzski?? I mean, true, your pitching staff are all under a buck, BUT, how was either Mauer OR Pujols left in the second round of a $100 million league?

Congrats on that.

I'm also curious about this, though the league was 80M, not 100M.
