Interesting question! Halladay is really a throwback to other decades where starters went deep into the game and had lots of complete games!
I've read different things on these boards about pitchers' endurance ratings and how they work, so anything I say here take with a grain of salt and the caveat that this is just how I think it works.
Based on playing the CD Rom game, and based on a phone call I had once (I actually called strat-o-matic and someone called me back and talked with me for about 20 minutes about the newer game features), I *think* that the pitchers' endurance is really all done now by pitch count. I *think* that the innings endurance ratings are really only for show now, and are not used in the CD rom or the internet game. So, for me, it would be really interesting to see what his target pitch count will be for the 2009 cards (!!). Man, what a dream season Halladay and the Phils are having! Fun to watch!
By the way, *if* I am right about pitchers' endurance, it really begs the question, "why don't they disclose the pitcher's target pitch count on the cards???". (It shows up clearly when you play the CD-ROm version of the game!).
Anyone else have info on this?
Bernieh, is disclosure of target pitch count something that strat could put on the cards, even if it is just for the internet version of the game??? It would be very helpful to know for ALL pitchers, starters AND relievers! (I haven't bought the CD-ROm game again since 2007 real baseball season).

Cliff Lee is currently averaging more IP per start, so he will also be one to look out for, though I doubt either gets an S8.
