Yesterday was the deadline to make drops for the supplemental draft. 7 managers have posted drops and 5 have not.

Although supplemental draft picks are not required, it seems unlikely that 5 managers will not be participating in the draft -- so let's extend the deadline to midnight tonight.

If the zero next to your name is correct, please confirm that, too, okay?

As I drove around town today, I remembered why I had named this the Summer - WINTER Keeper League. As the rules say:

"We'll play 2 seasons per year, one in the Summer and one in the Winter. The draft for the Summer season will begin on July 5th and the draft for the Winter season will begin on January 5th."

I apologize for trying to move this along right away. Doh!

On the other hand, maybe that's a good idea? What do you think?

December or January would be fine with me. I'd like to end closer to the release of the new set.

I could go for December or January. I am currently in the 24 TKL league and with the playoffs (which I am unlikely to make), the season would end around the middle of November. That way it will make the winter more interesting since the 24 TKL league wouldn't start up until the spring time. It's more exciting trying to win a championship than waiting to see where the top free agents go and how much the Yankees will overpay for a player (i.e. Cliff Lee, 5/6 years, $15M per).

After all my rambling, I am open to playing the 2nd half in either December or January.

BTW, when does the new set come out for the 2010 season?

Ironwill1 and Knight reminded me about why I set this league up for both summer and winter seasons: To avoid SOM withdrawal during those long cold winter months!


Unless there are major objections, I think we should stay with the original plan, which would play out like this:

1. Supplemental draft begins Thursday, 1/5/11, as in the original rules

2. league play likely to start on Monday, 1/16/11

3. Regular season would thus end Friday, 3/9/11

4. Playoffs would end between Friday, 3/16/11 and Monday, 3/19/11


This would fit pretty well with the introduction of the new card set. Recent intro dates were:

...3/9/09
