These questions have come up, so let me address them here for everyone. First, you have the rights to the players you drafted on your 1/2 squads. Only you can pick them up as FAs. Exception: In the case of players with multiple cards; if you drafted a superior version of a card, but someone drafted a lesser version first, you won't be able to use the superior version UNLESS the lesser version is not used/dropped. In that case, you would be free to use the better version from your squad. EX-I drafted the NYY POST Hitting squad, with the superior Rizzuto card. But, SteveAmes drafted the NYY PRE squad ahead of me, with a lesser version of the Scooter. Thus, I can't use Rizzuto, unless Steve doesn't keep his lesser version on his roster. If he doesn't, then I could employ my better Rizzuto card. If a superior version of a card [i:d1bfa9fa78]was not drafted by anyone[/i:d1bfa9fa78], like B. Gibson on StL EXP Pitching, than that version CAN'T be used. You need to have drafted the better version in order to use it, or have traded for it. Hope that is clear.

So I can't ever upgrade Gibson to his better Cardinal card because no one drafted the Cardinal expansion pitching, but you can use rodney Scott even though you didn't draft anything related to him or the Expos?

You can trade for drafted players. I drafted Wynn and Andy drafted Scott. This is from the original post about the theme -

Ok that trade may be technically legal, but it looks very lopsided on paper: 1.74 mil player for a 7.60 mil player. If we put that trade on the ATG board, I can imagine the comments.
