I wasn't going to use Wynn, at all. AndyC. actually offered me two much higher salaried players, in the neighborhood of what Wynn goes for. Thing was, I couldn't use them. My roster is pretty much filled/set. I asked if he had a cheap 2b that I could use in a platoon vs LHP, and he said Scott. Worked for me, as I got a serviceable platoon guy, for a player that wasn't even going to take a roster spot. These type of trades are fairly common in these combo themes. People will have a surplus of players they won't use, but those "spare parts" fit in nicely to someone else's roster.

Ok that's cool. Right out in the open and all above-board. By that logic I should be able to trade one or two nine-million dollar starters I don't need for a 1-rated ss to serve as a late-inning defensive replacement. Any takers?

Misterg, if you own them and can work a deal, you can trade them for anyone you can get. Eight 1/2 squads will give everyone a surplus at some positions. I was surprised at how quickly I reached the $140m cap limit, and still had a number of good players that I couldn't afford. As it is, I will be going pretty cheap at one, maybe two positions. I suspect everyone will have to make some tough decisions. I'm actually surprised that more trades like the one between AndyC. and I haven't occurred yet. Last time I was in a league similar to this, there must have been a dozen deals done before the draft was complete.
