There has been some talk about some exotic new options of ways to do an auction, and I wanted to state my preferences. While I think PKB;s idea has some merit, I do not think it would work so well at the end of the draft, and I think it might end up feeling like we have even less control than we have now, which would make the draft less enjoyable for me.
hackra has talked about wanting to do one of the looooong draft where we do do straight auction. I participated in two, and it has a nice strategy, but it literally lasts 6 months, and I found that after the first couple months it felt like a real grind. Plus how many of us know that we will have space for this in our lives for a whole 6 months?

What interests me most would be a live auction with open bidding, where we could dedicate 8 hours, and find some way of just doing the auction all at once.
Also Joe Kendall at some point was designing a draft site where we could the type of auction we are doing now, but the proposing player could bid like everyone else. His life got too busy, but if that could ever happen I'd be into that. I still don't like how the disadvantage of being the proposing player plays out at the end of these auctions.

The other new twist that interests me is having a different player pool.

I would love to do an auction with the 2009 cards, and also maybe with a subset of the ATG cards, say like pre or post WW2. or all AL or NL. I really like the 1969 cards, that auction would be fun for me.

Claiming Bender

Two Chiefs (Bender on the right)

Folks, we're gonna be getting Dazzy with it:
Open: Dazzy Vance - $0.94

Did you know:
Dazzy liked to fish. So much that he got into the fishing lure business. Short lived, they only made three lures, available for one year. I imagine they are expensive as all get out.

"Dazzy" is the guy on the right.

I think my valuation was a bit high... 5.02 would have been sufficient. *sigh*

Don't be so hard on yourself, PKB, if you are within a buck, you are doing great!
