Problem with Tonight's Live Draft Tuesday(Strat Stat + Bat)

Postby Salty » Tue Oct 12, 2010 11:53 pm

Hi B-

(league name Strat, stat and bat)
During tonight's live draft somewhere in the late teens the site kicked everyone out of the draft- and wouldn't allow us to reenter for a while.
I only missed one of my picks but some folks missed the rest of the draft.

Realize not everything in life is smooth- but wanted to let you know there is an issue.

Thanks for getting this thread started, El-Saltman.

I got kicked out in the 20th round and was unable to get back in at all.

I had the player set browser open and in the 20th round, two picks away
from my turn, I was no longer able to bring up the cards and then I got
the:

"Sorry but we are performing system maintenance and the site should be
available before 5AM" message.

I even got the message about games being replayed back in September with the link to the forum explanation.

I tried to get back into the draft for about 15-20 minutes doing everything I could think of (refreshing the draft page, going back in through original league signup page, etc) but was unable to do so.

Looking at my roster I had a grouping of SPs on my "Watch List" and it looks like it did pull from that but I didn't want to end up with 8 SPs and now it looks like a lot of the hitters I was targeting (but not on my Watch List) are gone.

I was very dissappointed last night.

I'm in this league too, and I also got booted out of the draft and tried frantically to get back in, and got the same error message as above. I was able to get back on before the draft ended, but it was very frustrating!

Now, we should just concentrate on getting the season going and going well

In my mind this was every bit as unacceptable as the site crash about a year ago. I lost my last 6-7 picks so... [color=red:9989d53877]I HAVE NO BENCH AND HAVE NO CHANCE OF GETTING ONE[/color:9989d53877]

Maybe, but rounds 20-25 is a better time for filling your bench. I hope we get an explanation at least as to what happened.

While it doesn't hurt my team as much- I think, depending on the composition of ones team- that rounds 20-25 can matter enough to make the difference between making and missing the playoffs-
so I do feel like its reasonable for some folks to have an issue, which is why I started the post.

Where this gets tough might be deciding what to do, if anything about it.

We can't redo the draft with the same order because everyone has revealed their strategies, and we can't start a draft in the 20th round. So accept that we were all equally messed up in the least important parts of our draft and move on w/ the season

Sorry but rounds 20-25 are EXTREMELY important. I don't know about you guys but I'd rather have a scrappy utility infielder that fits my team and hits (also I went with alot of injury risks thinking I'd get some good backups built for MY team) than a guy like Russell Branyan or Juan Rivera.

I'm not complaining because I know we all got screwed.

I just kinda think free credits might be in order here. (I've never requested that before)

Think about it, it's not like TSN would have to do this for hundreads of members, just 12, 12 managers that had their live draft ended (which is part of what we're paying especially considering it determines how good we are in the actual season) in ways that weren't consistent for all 12 members.
