As great as he is, he's still a 1st baseman. I'm surprised as great as they are as hitters, 3 1st basemen were taken in round one considering how many options are actually there. The 12th best 1st baseman is a heck of a lot closer to the upper echelon of that position than maybe the 4th or 5th best is to the two middle infield spots.

true...but no matter the position...he hit 312 with 42 dingers and 414 OBP

Taking Mauer one spot ahead of me made my decision easier.
Position depth was the reason I passed on Albert but I think I made a mistake. I could have taken Pujols and gotten one of the elite 3B that I was afraid of missing out on.

Are we going with the following division set-up?
1, 4, 7, 10
2, 5, 8, 11
3, 6, 9, 12
It does make a difference in how we (or at least me) draft.
