[quote:adf80650cc="ironwill1"]Strat does seem to match e-rating with the real error number if the player played the whole season at that position.[/quote:adf80650cc]
Yes and no...
I think I mentioned this before but Ill lay out an example...
I'm fairly sure that this is how the "e" ratings are calculated...
Strat assumes that playing a full season in the field EQUALS 1500 innings.
Heres an example:
2009 Hanley Ramirez (2e[b:adf80650cc]12[/b:adf80650cc]): In the season he played 1259 innings in the field and had 10 errors....
So 1259/10=125.9
So Hanley makes an error every 125.9 innings (on average)
So...take the 1500/125 = [b:adf80650cc]12[/b:adf80650cc]
Now for someone who hasnt played all year at a specific position:
2009 Martin Prado @ 3B (3e[b:adf80650cc]11[/b:adf80650cc]): Real Stats: 266 innings 2 errors
266/2 = 133
1500/133 = [b:adf80650cc]11.2[/b:adf80650cc]
So, using that for Uggla...looks like an e19
