Before we start, has anyone got a spreadsheet of the player pool?
This will speed things along.
If we publish the spreadsheet to Google Docs and everyone updates their picks, it will make it easier for everyone to know who hasn't been selected.

In total, each owner will be nominating 23 players and a stadium. Those 23 players must be 9 pitchers and 14 hitters, including at least 2 catchers. It doesn't matter in which round they are nominated.

For example, in the first round you could nominate 8 pitchers, or you could nominate 0 pitchers, 4 catchers and 4 utility infielders - any combination is fine as long as you end up nominating 9 pitchers and 14 hitters (including 2 catchers) over the 5 round nomination phase.

Hi Franky- ggrover made his picks on the other thread. Do you want us to continue like that or did you plan to be the one updating the list on the other thread each time we nominate players on this thread?

let's use this thread for the picks. The other thread will be an alphabetical list to see which players have been picked.

Grover's picks: Bell, Gary (sp); Robertson, Rich (sp); James, Jeff (sp); Hamilton, Jack (rp); Borbon, Pedro (rp); Law, Ron (rp), Barton, Bob (c); Torborg, Jeff (c)

comments, over Torborg's 10 year career he batted .214, so 69 was no aberration - he was strictly a backup, defensive catcher. Although he was an unsuccessful manager for 3 major league teams, according to Wiki, his daughter and son were both professional wrestlers, which is pretty weird.

Somehow in my review of bad players, I missed Bob Barton. He has a bad arm AND he can't hit a lick. In 1969, he had 1 RBI in 118 plate appearances.

franky's round 1 nominations:
Jackson, Al (rp), Roberts, Dave (rp), Lee, Bill (rp), Bertaina, Frank (rp), Rudi, Joe, Oliver, Nate; Clark, Ron; Fosse, Ray (C)

Leon McFadden - wow! Terrible ss (4e30), even worse right fielder. His hitting is just about as bad as possible - no HR, no extra base hits, extremely poor OBP, lots of double play grounders. As a base runner, McFadden gets picked off on 7-10.

Extraordinarily awful! Well done!
