Another PRE-CARD Draft?? - CHAT THREAD

'6' is the maximum injury a player can have.

Morneau's card should at least be like Furcal's card of a few years ago, if not better.

I agree that he'll be risky in 80M and even 100M leagues, but with no salary cap, you can pick up a pretty good backup without worrying too much.

I meant that Mourneau's injury will either be on a roll of 6 or 7. Basically, you are saying that you are willing to piss away a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick if Mourneau misses 80+ games. By all means, please continue drafting like that.

I agree for one reason only, and thats because he's a 1st baseman. I'd have taken a more serious look if he was a middle infielder, 3rd baseman (also a scarce position) or CF.

But thats why we have drafts, everyone has a different philosophy.

[quote:8a9c5e2652="Ineluki"]Sorry Dave but Mourneau is going to be either a 6 or 7 injury and that makes him a HUGE risk this high in the draft...[/quote:8a9c5e2652]

I believe this is a $200M league, so I figured i would have a decent backup. Posey can play both C and 1B. Just need a decent backup catcher. Just hoping to get 500 PAs from Morneau. He should have some great numbers while he's in there.

I'll be out until Sunday late afternoon. I'm 19 picks away from my next pick......and it's a weekend. I'm assuming it won't get back around to me. However, I'll put together some proxies and send to Dave.

Great pick with Buster Posey, Kev. I've got your list of proxies and will implement it when/if your turn comes up.

I assumed Wockenfuss meant to take "Nick" Swisher, and not Steve Swisher, his father, whose career ended in 1982 ...

Ouch! The last 3 picks were right off the top of my list. Cut it out!!!

Things are a little clunky to start this week. It's not like the cards are coming out any time soon...but it's nice to have a flow to the draft.

Yeah, I was definitely targeting Braun and A-Roid.

On Baseball-Reference, it says that Ryan Braun's nickname is "The Hebrew Hammer". I have never heard him called this nickname. Has anyone else?
