Bob Feller and the rule clarificaiton on card version

Postby 2cityfan » Sun Nov 21, 2010 10:43 pm

Your roster is bounded to the players who are on your selected teams. You may use any card version of the players. So if you draft CWS-exp, and you get Dick Allen in the autodraft, you can use any version of Dick Allen, as a White Sox player, or as a Phillie.

That said, you CANNOT use players from NEL, DB, or PRE WAR era in any circumstance. Only the post war version of Bob Feller is eligible for this league. I also made note of the "Satchel Paige" rule as well. If Bernie had the filters working, these DB and Pre War era players would not be available for selection...

Hope this is clear to all.. thanks ('8-)')

Clarification

Postby Cubs48 » Mon Nov 22, 2010 4:20 am

Just one more thing Commish ( 2cityfan)...if for instance someone drafted OAK-exp and wanted to auto draft McGwire do you have to put the Oak version on your auto draft card or can you use the highest priced STL card on your draft card ?.... :) Thanks

auto draft clarification

Postby 2cityfan » Mon Nov 22, 2010 9:37 am

Well Cubs48 you bring up another point, I honestly did not think through. Although in theory you would end up in the same salary cap level if you drafted the cheaper McGwire card, won him from STL, then used the higher priced McGwire STL card..

Let me answer your question this way, I do not know how we would realistically enforce whether you put the cheaper McGwire on your draft card and traded up, or drafted the more expensive card. As long as it is a player you have drafting rights to, you can draft any version of that player...

I know we are all savy enough to go for the lower priced cards to make room for the maximum number of players that we do not have exclusive rights to... In the end we will all end up with 12 - $130 mil capped competitive teams...

So am I to assume, as logic tells me to, that Hal will follow his typical draft logic

example: I draft the PIT-Exp just so I can put Bonds #1 on my card and try and snag him from Frank M.....Frank in an act of paranoid defensiveness also puts Bonds as his #1

Hal will give Bonds to however was first in the draft order...not to whoever wanted the higher priced Bonds

eligibility

Postby nymets99 » Mon Nov 22, 2010 11:33 am

I just want to be certain about one thing. In order to draft a player, that player HAS to have a card for one of the franchises that we draft, right. an example would be , david cone. He is carded to , KC, NYM and NYY. So although at the end of his career , he pitched for the Red Sox, he has no card for the red sox and is therefore not eligible to be a Red Sox. I am just asking because i believe this to be correct , but i want to make sure.
