I am stuffed with Turkey and all the fixings. After working all night and sleeping much of today, I see we have more of the same.
I suspect danielz if enjoying a nice visit with family and hope he is enjoying it mightily. The request by PKB and comment by litangel that we delay bidding until 10 today may (but probably didn't) play a role. (I also do not think 10 am or 10 pm was indicated).
I like the solution that ironwill1 put forth the best. That being ironwill1 gets Miljus (for 2.82)and Jeter (for 7.1) and the prior nomination on Al Simmons is cancelled. In this case I prefer the easy solution over the timeline because there are several confounding issues. INCLUDING the reallocation of Charleston in the midst of the nominations, the reassignment of Miljus and the results posting on Simmons in the light of a possible time extension.
There is an alternate solution I would like to throw out there but mostly as the default for future problems in this auction. We could Throw out the results on ALL contested auctions and rebid openly on any player involved. (for example in this case we could throw out the auctions on Charleston, Miljus, and Simmons and put them all into open auction with every manager involved since each of these auctions were tainted in some way). The opening bid would be the minimum on the player and the opener would be the player who nominated them legally even if the initial price was later found to be illegal.
again I am for the solution ironwill initially proposed and unless there is disagreement, he should either nominate a new hitter instead of Simmons or renominate Simmons at a lower price.
AND...we should not close an auction that has a "no bid" until after 10 PM tonight. (Then the regular 24 hour clock shall be in force)
Hope that works for everyone.
