Instead of 1,4,7,10, the divisional distribution could be determined by separate randomization.

Draft order is what the current randomization refers to.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. My bad.

Again, no biggie, but if Schnoogens and others like the idea, great. If not, not.

Got ya. I'm fine with division distribution in a pre-determined order or random order.

We still need 3 more managers ...

I don't entirely follow...since the origination of the draft order is random, then by default the divisions are also random.

Unless you feel like it's different if we go 1,5,8,11 (3,6,10,12 and 2,4,7,9 being the other divisions) but I don't see what a difference that will make, in fact it'll likely make things more confusing when you're trying to glance at your divisional opponents' rosters.

I want to stress that one way or another the divisions need to be set before the draft because divisional opponents help set draft strategy.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

I think that's Artie's point exactly. Without the benefit of knowing who's going to be in your division, you can't necessarily gain an advantage by drafting to counter others' picks.

As I said, I'm fine either way. I understand that knowing who will be in your division may help your draft strategy, but then again in auto-drafts we don't know what stadiums and players others are taking until after the draft.

I am just bringing up a possible interesting element to this. As Dave said, if we left the distribution of teams into divisions to the end -- along with each person's stadium choice -- the player selection would be absent that knowledge.

Again, if Schnoogens likes this idea, and others like it -- and it doesn't throw things off too much -- then great. And if not, then we'll just move on as noted.

Thanks for helping me articulate this more clearly, Dave.

Got it, this would make it more like an autodraft. I'm cool with that, not knowing the division alignments ahead of time.

So, can I assume our stadium choice would be the last draft pick we make, and then a quick randomization would determine the divisions in which we would be entering the league?

Should be fun.

You can use your stadium pick at anytime, as those are loaded onto the site as well. I recommend you use your first pick on your stadium.

Got it. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks, by the way, for putting this league together.
