The Schnoogens No-Theme League Draft Chat

Postby artie4121 » Sun Dec 19, 2010 11:53 am

I just LOVVVESS me Jason Kubel . . . I try to get him everytime if I can, even though he is a platoon player. . . BUT good recoup with Garrett Jones. If this were a 100Mil league, I would have put him high on my draft list. Same type card BUT just more expensive. Kubel is the 2009 Ralph Kiner value card.

This is my first time doing a Live draft with a salary cap. The only clue that I am doing "okay" on money is that I am not that out of target with what everyone else is spending after an equal amount of picks.

With the "Groups" concept (I'm a relatively bright guy, but I'm not getting it), do I "number the groups?

[quote:0163dd67c5]Group 1 Pref 1
Group 1 pref 2
Group 2 Pref 1
Group 2: pref 2
Group 2 Pref 3
Group 3 Pref 1[/quote:0163dd67c5]

And the engine will pick my Group 1 Pref 1; then try for Group 2 Pref 1?

AND is that how I would list them on the proxy list?

If this becomes clear to me, I'm going to do Adrian a favor, write it up, and have him put it on his "Help" page in DD.

Thanks guys,

Your Resident Idiot
Artie

Artie, you've got the proxies down - only other thing I'd add is to use the "delete if group picked" option all all players that are ranked #2 and up in that same group. Usually groups are used for the same position and if your first choice is selected you don't want the 2nd player listed in the same group too.

Please give him another hour or so, as the clock just turned back on this morning. But what you are seeing means that it is allowing you to pick.

If you want to rescind my picks and give him another hour, fine.

With the time difference of BigMahon in England, he had most of yesterday evening and all morning on his end to pick, but that said, pull back my picks if you can, and see what happens.

Yeah, last night wouldn't have mattered. He should have full time slot as soon as clock gets turned on Monday morning (not sure what time that is though?).

Anyway, if he checks in and wasn't going to take either of Artie's guys, it's moot.

You're right keyzick. But with BigMahon being in England, his active time relative to us all is much shorter during the evening, but longer during the morning. It's already mid-afternoon, and by 7 p.m. our time, when we get home from work and do our settings, it's midnight there. So, while we're asleep, he's already up and at 'em.

He still hasn't checked in, but when he does, is his next pick in Round 6, then Round 7?

If we are going to skip picks we have to stick to the letter of the law, which is clock off on the weekend and clock running from 9AM-PM Eastern (Am I remembering correctly).

So his clock shouldn't have started until 9AM.

England is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Time, so the last pick was made 1:42AM to him, so not much chance of him checking in last night. If he is there on business, it may have been tough for him to get to the internet during business hours.

I really believe we have to give him until noon Eastern until we skip him. That was the rule.

Agreed. I was going by the system giving me the okay.

At this point, if BigMahon wants to declare either of my picks as his 6th pick, I'm okay with that, and will swap it on the Autodraft.

BigM, just let me know soonest.

What's fair is fair.
