Wow that was a fast one; I hardly had time to log in New Year's Day before Beltre was gone...

Nice pickup of Castro; Good to see more than a little activity, though how you can think straight this soon in the New Year is beyond me.

If Dave wanted my abrupt removal to look credible, he should have at least shied away from my best player, at least for a little while. He knows I never would have made this deal; his deals have a tendency to be vulturous. Check his trade history and how both sides have fared afterwards, something I'm guessing palmtana may not be aware of; also, the smokey deal would have tempted me some, but Dave has a knack for acting quick, packaging spin, and coaxing the right amount when necessary, which is easier to pull off with a HCKL rookie. (I distinctly remember an episode when he tried to get Jerry Hairston from me, which included an incident of textural hollering in an attempt to coerce me to deal him; he won the title anyway without him.) Although his original league rules were magnificent and robust, this league is now a sham; sour grapes, yes, but am I at least partly right though? Good chance.
