SOM Opening Day/50th Anniversary - I'll be there

Hey everyone!

As some of you may have heard, Strat-O-Matic is turning their yearly Opening Day event into a big bash in NYC to celebrate their 50th Anniversary, on [b:7499c59188]Saturday, February 12[/b:7499c59188].

I plan to be there! How about you? By the way: [b:7499c59188]it's free![/b:7499c59188]

I don't really know anything about the event beyond what's at the above link, so go check it out. All I know is I'll be bringing my Negro League cards and a thirst for beer.

If I find out anything more, or if everyone wants to plan a big get-together, I'll post updates/details here.

Note: This is "Opening Day" for the physical card sets only. The 2010 season of SOM Online will debut in early March, as usual.

Hope to come ... and maybe bring one or two with me ... we shall see ... the location is a midtown Manhattan church ... and there's a link listed at the site Bernie mentions above for what they claim are "reasonable" nearby hotel accommodations ... though what that means to a New Yorker ... :shock:

Just kidding ... actually hoping to bunk down in a spare room out that way for a night or two ... any of you in NYC area NJ, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queen, or "The Island" up for that? My friends and I ARE house-trained and stuff if you can offer.
