Here's one that will be of interest to those folks who love the draft as much as the season. A two-team theme league using the 1969 and 1970's sets. It's a bit tricky, so read carefully.
- 26-round draft using the 1969 card set on somdraft.com. Yeah, it will take awhile, so plan on being patient. If you've never used somdraft before, don't worry. We will help you. Draft order by randomizer.
- Draft is 25 players and a unique stadium. Same stadium in both leagues.
- Only players who are carded in the 1969 and 1970's sets are eligible to be drafted. Note: [b:b0383ea4e1]There are only 120 pitchers in both sets![/b:b0383ea4e1] Once you draft them, they are yours. There's no flexibility with pitchers unless you trade.
- When you draft a player in the 1969 set you also get him in the 70's.
- You cannot cut, trade, or pick up a player in one set without doing the same in the other set.
- No DH - $80M - 5/10/20 waivers.
The challenge in drafting will be to set up a pitching staff. Some guys, like Wilbur Wood are pure relievers in 1969 and starters in the 70's. It will require attention to figure it out. If a manager messes up they will be responsible for making trades to fix things.
It is my hope to be done drafting and ready to start playing by the first of February, just as some guys are wrapping up a 3-team Yankee tourney.
Please: only people who are willing to proxy and check in regularly should sign up. I also prefer managers who are willing to send a cell number so we can keep you updated via text messages if you have to be away.
Sign up and get ready for a fun tourney requiring a lot of planning and thought.
