Closers pitching three games in a row

Anyone else notice closers pitching more. I've noticed three times in the last week or so.
Franklin saved four games in a row and Brian Harvey twice pitched in three consecutive games in the last ten.

I guess that's a good thing to get the closer in as often as possible (as long as he's not blowing it ;) ).

FYI - Those links don't work.

I was trying to link to the players last ten but couldn't. I don't mind them pitching, as they both are doing very well. It's just usually kind of a rare occurance and four games in a row is extremely rare.

Remember this one durantjerry?

Borowski has pitched eight games in a row....and counting (he ended up appearing in 11 in a row)

Coincidentally, last night on my 2006 season team, Borowski saved games 37 and 38 and came back and got an out in game 39.

In the same 90's league, Thigpen and Franco both appeared in five straight games.

I've noticed closers pitching in 3 straight games on my teams without even being below F9 endurance, at least atthe beginning of their 3rd straight relief appearance. I haven't noticed stretches longer than that - or at least if it was longer then they began their 4th appearance at less than F9.

It seems to me that the longer closer consecutive games streaks usually occurred after a good rest period. For example, I have noticed the consecutive game streaks at the beginning of the season, and also at the beginning of the playoffs.

At the time, I just shook my head and said, "huh, how bout that", but it seems that it DOES come up from time to time, based on other people's similar experiences.

Interesting!

Harvey just went three in a row again. Three times in twenty one games?

Durantjerry, I'm curious - do you have closer usage set to maximum, on the team strategy settings?

I usually do this, and that was the setting I was using when I've seen it happen. (lately I have been trying it being set on 'regular', and I know many players use regular). I wonder if the closer's appearances are quite restricted to actual closer situations, then maybe the endurance rules are relaxed/extended for closers. Maybe the closer endurance factor enters into this. The closers I was using where this happened were all 6 endurance factors as closers.

I don't remember what Harvey's closer factor is, but I am assuming it is a 6?

What do to think about a possible influence of closer strategy settings and closer endurance factor on the 3 or more consecutive F9 appearances?

He is an R2/C5 or C6. I have him in every role except middleman, as my starters are very good. Relief is conservative, Closer is max with a couple of starters on slow hook. I have used these settings with many Closers though, and they rarely go three in a row. Franklin is an R1/C6 and he is plugged into many roles also. Putting someone in many roles has never gotten HAL to use the guys in more than two consecutive games very often in my experience.
