Ok, guys, where do you think the pricing was the most off? Which players, in an 80 mil league, could you just not afford to put on your team due to their price?

And, conversely, who were the guys that were "bargains"? That is underpriced. Not just guys that you liked, but guys who you just looked at and said "Wow, too cheap"?

Ive never used Pujols or Mauer in an 80 million league because there is similar production out there to replace Pujols (Fielder).

Mauer is just too expensive for a 15 game injury possibility.

I always use the Aaron Hill card in a power stadium. Adam Lind is a great 5 million card but hes never available.

In an $80M league, I have trouble stomaching Lincecum's salary. He has an excellent card, but seems to often put up numbers comparable to lesser salaried SPs.

Seconded. I also never drafted Youkilis and had a hard time (but still used) with Kemp's cost too. I feel like Youk is overpriced due to his ability to play both 1B and 3B.

Players who are under $1M who can play multiple positions should have a higher value than crappy players who can't...that's the difference between a $.50M bench player and a $.75M bench player. But with a stud like Youk, there is no advantage to him playing both positions and therefore it's poor value.

One thing you have to remember about Lincecum (and the other S7*) is that they are capable of giving you a lot of innings every 4th day. That really helps out a weak or frequently overworked bullpen. I really like Lincecum, as he gives me pretty good numbers and, as I said, lots of IP.

I forgot to comment on this, too. I'll take Lincecum EVERY time I can get him. Worth every penny. Of course, those of you in keeper/live drafts with me would expect nothing less. :lol:

I usually avoid high priced pitchers in 80M leagues. I cannot justify paying 10% or more of my team budget to a player that can only impact 25% of the games. I don't know if Lincecum's output or input or whatever is 4X greater than Marquis. Although I think the big pitchers would have helped me in the playoffs over the years I find I get more bang for my buck with an expensive RP or spending the cash on more offence and/or defence .

You brought up an excellent point, toronto. You have to build teams to win in the regular season and in the postseason. That great R2 or R3 reliever will soak up a ton of innings and help you out over the long haul, but when you need to win one game, it's great to have a stud pitcher available. Though the expression comes from card playing, it's definitely a bonus to have an "ace in the hole" come playoff time.
